There exists one major
concern when teaching elementary students one on one in the afternoon to
evening hours. These kids, and I, have already had a full day before they even
come to me. Keeping us focused during the 45 minute lesson can be difficult! I
want to give these kids the best of my teaching, and help them to maximize the
benefits of our time together.
Peppermint oil, applied aromatically, increases alertness,
and promotes cognitive performance.
Lemon oil energizes, and helps with concentration.
For my birthday, my Handsome Man bought me a diffuser! I purchased mine from DoTERRA because it came with a bottle of OnGuard. It also arrived with two bottles and diffuser attachments, which are washable.
On my teaching day several weeks ago, I poured equal amounts
Peppermint and Lemon Oils into one of these empty bottles, and plugged it in to
my diffuser.
I can set the volume of
oil that comes out, how many minutes it diffuses for, and how many minutes it
rests for. The settings vary from under five minutes to twenty minutes,
which gives me lots of freedom.
When January hits, I am will faithfully try
this. I am looking forward to maximizing the potential of my time with the
kids!
How are applying Peppermint and Lemon aromatically?
About Peppermint Oil: It enhances memory, and helps with
fatigue. It also helps with headaches! However, I CANNOT apply this oil while
pregnant or nursing, since it is contraindicated during pregnancy, and lowers
milk supply if nursing. It is actually recommended for weaning!
About Lemon Oil: Aromatically, it helps with Anxiety and
concentration. It also protects against
colds and flu because of its air purification qualities! Trust me, when having multiple
children in and out of my home, this is a huge bonus!
