Soap!

I have never made soap. The real, lye burns your eyes, kind. I have always liked the idea, but it just seemed overwhelming. I really do not like antibacterial hand soaps, because I feel that they kill everything, not just the bad stuff.

Recently, I pinned a link from doTERRA about making your own SUPER easy foaming Hand Soap. My eyes lit up, and my very small do it your self-er spoke up...

I followed the directions almost perfectly from here. With a couple exceptions.

For my Bathroom Soap dispenser (which I purchased for cheap from Aromatools), I used sweet almond oil (from Super Supplements) in place of the fractionated coconut oil. I chose 10 plus drops of Wild Orange oil in place of mixing Peppermint and Lemon, as suggested by the blog.

Instead of just water, I used water that had been boiled, but was at room temperature. I may also up the almond or coconut oil levels for moisturizing, I'll let you know in a week...

For the Kitchen Soap dispenser , I used fractionated coconut oil (I have to follow directions SOME time!) and 15 drops of OnGuard.

I chose OnGuard because it contains Wild Orange, Clove Bud, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Rosemary in an immune boosting and bacteria busting combination!

CAUTION: OnGuard shouldn't be used topically on pregnant women (which I am....hey, I just ate a bowl of ice cream mixed with peanut butter. Oh. So delicious...anyway...), but I am comfortable using it at this level of dilution. Also, the rule about the glass bottle doesn't matter as much with this recipe, according to the blog notes in the comments section under the directions.

Have you made Soap?
